Sir Scot Schneider
Count of Julian County, Marshal of the Badlands Crusade

Count Schneider has been appointed the marshal of the Badlands Crusade, tasked with organizing the errant knights and their levies in order to claim relics for the lady.

Count Schneider has ruled the County of Julian from the seat at Jule’s Castle for 24 years, since he inherited his father’s demesne at the age of 22. Attaining lordship before the age of 25, he had not yet sipped from the Lady’s grail. In order to legitimize his rule he set off gain the Lady’s favor by leading a quest into the lands of Estalia. With a small contingent of knights and peasants Scot entered the Irana Mountains, searching for the fabled city of Durango. 

After reclaiming relics from the lost city, Scot began his return journey to bring the relics of the lady to Jule’s Castle. While travelling he was given a vision by the Lady and entered a small wood along the road, discovering a spring. When he dismounted and knelt down to drink from the spring the lady appear before him and his two most trusted knights. She offered all three a sip from her grail and instructed them to take the relics to the King, which Scot did.

Upon delivery of the relics to the King, Scot recited the Grail Vow, tying his service directly to the King. Being one of the few Grail Knights in the border region with Estalia, Scot was assigned the task of defending the road between Sibourne and Vizeaya. He performed his task dutifully for years, interrupted only by calls to arms from the King of Bretonnia or the Duke of Cabarnet.

After faithful service for 22 years, the King has rewarded Scot by giving him the position of Marshal over the soon be launched Badlands Crusade. Scot hopes to secure honors for his house by leading a successful campaign to capture the Flying Fastness and as many relics as possible to return to the king. He brings with him his first born soon, Stephan, and his most faithful vassal and father-in-law, Lord Robert Leslie to serve as his lieutenants. He has also brought as his standard bearer his faithful paladin, Eddard Kauffman, who has ridden with Scot since the quest in Estalia.

Baron Stephan Schneider

Heir of Julian County, first born son of Count Scot Schneider.

Stephan is temperamental knight of the young age of 24. He was conceived through the union of the Schneider and Leslie houses, born shortly after his father began the quest in Estalia. Raised primarily by his mother Jayne due his father’s absences at war, he identifies as a member of Leslie house more than that of his surname.

Stephan is joining his father on the campaign in order to gain favor in the eyes of the lady. He knelt before his father and gave the Questing Vow when he brought his levee to the assembly camp. He laid his lance at his father’s feet and removed the family crest from his tunic, the traditional symbolism of a knight beginning the quest. If he performs dutifully it is expected that the lady will appear before him and allow him to sip from the Holy Grail, giving him legitimacy to rule the county when his father passes.

Stephan has brought with him as his standard bearer his childhood friend and cousin, Anders Leslie, whom has taken the Question Vow as well.

September 8th, 1547 - Stephen fights a battle along the Arabyan Trail against a herd of beastmen, routing the army. He personally slays a Great Bray-Shawman and Beastlord in personal combat, capturing the Beastlord. He also slays two minotuars and an unknown number of beastmen.

Lord Robert Leslie

Knight of Julian County

Robert is a venerable knight who has served under House Schneider since the rule of Scot’s father. A veteran of many campaigns, Scot has entrusted Robert to lead his third war host into the badlands and to provide the rear guard support that crusade will need. He has also been tasked with providing Scot’s second son, Cris, an education in war.

Robert is famous in the county of Julian for his distinctive Pegasus mount (rare in that region of Bretonnia). As a former knight of Parravon, he learned to ride the mount while serving in the Grey Mountains.

He hopes to gain a landed title from Count Schneider by serving valiantly in the Badlands Crusade in order to have an inheritance and increased prestige to pass on to this many children. He has brought with him his first male son, Jon, to serve as his standard bearer, and Cris is also present in his army.

Lord Cris Scheinder – Second son of Count Scot Schneider. Cris has always been empathetic towards the lowborn and always fights on foot with the peasants, lending his noble blood to inspire courage in the peasants.

September 8th, 1547 - Sir Anders fought in a battle under the leadership of Sir Stephen against beastmen. Anders falls in battle in personal combat against the Beastlord, taking a near fatal wound. He recovers from his wounds after spending a few days under the care of the Ladies of Life.
